Self-Promoting

With the massive number of blogs and the even larger number of websites out there, it's pretty difficult to draw some attention into your little corner of the blogosphere.

I've managed to do a few things -- adding the link to my AIM profile and my Facebook profile, to name a few. As against MySpace bulletins as I am (but that's another story), I sent out a link to this blog on a MySpace bulletin as well as adding a link from my MySpace, um, space.

I've also passed the link onto a number of people and signed up for those blog databases such as Blogdigger and BlogExplosion, but the most important thing you can do to promote your blog is (I think) utilizing that little "Next Blog" button offered on each Blogger blog.

After signing into your blog on Blogger/Blogspot, there's a little bar on top of the page. Clicking "next blog" takes you to a random blog. I've done this a few times, leaving comments on blogs that grab my attention. Hopefully, someone will read my comment and trackback to my blog and, just maybe, will become a regular reader.

Here's hoping my soapbox in my little corner gets some attention!
